Kwity Paye to the Broncos? NFL simulated draft possesses Michigan edge rusher relating to Denver.


Another edge rusher for the Broncos? One mock draft has one of the nation’s best heading to Denver.

Yahoo Sports’ Eric Edholm has Michigan edge rusher Kwity Paye going to Denver with the No. 13 overall pick in his latest NFL mock draft.

“If the Broncos end up picking higher, perhaps a quarterback will be in the discussion. Maybe Mac Jones at No. 13 won’t sound wild in April. That’s a chat for another day,” Edholm writes. “It makes sense to start thinking about life after Von Miller following his freakish ankle injury and his contract is due to expire following the 2021 season.

“Paye possesses elite athleticism and has been the clear standout on a disappointing Wolverines defense this season. Although his pass rush arsenal could use refinement, his burst, thick build and bull-rush prowess give him an excellent template to grow.”

The 6-foot-4, 272-pound Paye had two sacks and 16 tackles in six games for the Wolverines this season. In 2019, he had 6.5 sacks and a fumble recovery. He announced on Friday that he signed with Creative Artists Agency, according to the Detroit Free Press.

The 2021 NFL draft will take place April 29-May 1 in Cleveland.
