Broncos tap the services of Christian Parker as defensive spines trainer


The Broncos on Monday announced they have hired Christian Parker as the team’s new defensive backs coach.

Parker, 29, had served as the Packers’ defensive quality control coach over the last two seasons. He also had coaching stints at several colleges, including Texas A&M, Notre Dame, William & Mary, Norfolk State and Virginia State.

Parker replaces Renaldo Hill, who was hired in January as the Chargers’ defensive coordinator.

Over the last two years, Green Bay’s defense allowed 21.3 points per game and were 12th in the league in interceptions with 28. Opposing quarterbacks combined for an 86.1 passer rating, ranking 22nd in the NFL during that span.
